If you have explored GreatCents.org then you know that I am heavily invested in Financial Education. I was able to present at the 61st Council for Economic Education Conference in Dulles, Virginia. I was there presenting on The My Economy, an awesome way for students to learn hands on how to train, work with money and pay for wants and needs. It was close enough to Washington D.C. that I took an uber to see the incredible historical places! On my solo journey I got extremely car sick on the way (it was like a carnival ride with traffic), I barely made it with my lunch still intact. Then I saw the Lincoln Memorial which seemed like such a historical and peaceful place. I also noticed my battery was nearly out and so I set out to find a place to charge. Helpful information, everything closes at 5PM and I was in a desperate search for a place to charge. Thankfully I found a Chipotle, yet my charger barely gave my phone the energy it needed. I decided to see the National Capital and the Supreme Court before getting some dinner. It was captivating and so cool that you can walk up and look at it. However, I started to realize that I needed to get back to my hotel and my phone was really low on charge. There were no Ubers in my area... As my phone was dying a person took my ride. It was the most expensive ride of my life but I was so thankful to get back. This is why I love traveling with my wife, she is incredible at logistics and planning!
